Each custom project, even if the subject matter is familiar, poses its own unique set of challenges that push me forward as an artist. I would not have had the guts or skill to paint oversized flowers and birds all over a gilded oven hood a few years ago. This is one of the first things seen upon entering the house and I love that Anna wanted to go bold.
