This piece is a custom canvas watercolor for my client, Prairie. I embarked on a journey to bring a slice of New Mexico’s desert to her, despite the miles that now separate her from ‘The Land of Enchantment’. Working on a watercolor canvas is always a delightful experience. Unlike paper, watercolor canvas has a slower drying time and grants the ability to lift the paint off the surface, allowing for additional adjustments and refinements.
The resulting artwork measures 2’x4′, making it my largest watercolor canvas to date. This substantial size not only showcases the rich colors and textures of Ghost Ranch but also serves as a testament to the beauty of this iconic New Mexican landscape.
